Facilities Audit

NAVSEA 05S may request a facilities audit after the coating qualification application has been approved. The purpose of the audit is to determine if the manufacturer’s facilities have the technical, production, and self-audit procedures in place to manufacture the product according to the military specification’s requirements. The local area DCMA representative will contact the manufacturer to schedule the audit. Product testing will not be authorized until NAVSEA reviews the DCMA audit results. The manufacturer will be notified of the audit results by letter. Successful applicants will receive authorization to conduct qualification testing. If the audit results are unfavorable, the manufacturer may be afforded the opportunity to adjudicate the issues discovered during the audit.
